It is believed and scientifically proven that pregnancy period behavior, food habit and health condition has direct effect on offspring.
The pregnancy period is an important and very critical time when the mother health including weight, metabolism and diet can influence the risk of future chronic diseases in children like insufficient growth, premature birth, autism etc and we must know the way to reduce the risk of both mother and child.
According to Lancet-
Parental environmental factors, including diet, body composition, metabolism, and stress, affect the health and chronic disease risk of people throughout their lives, as captured in the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease concept. Research across the epidemiological, clinical, and basic science fields has identified the period around conception as being crucial for the processes mediating parental influences on the health of the next generation.
To help improve health and safety in future generations we have to focus on better guidance and support for individuals or groups for planning pregnancy and increase public health measures to reduce obesity, anxieties and improve nutrition. It is suggested that behavior change interventions, supplementation and fortification could lead to preconception health improvements.
So, this is parents high responsibility to take care of their personal health condition, behavioral pattern and pre pregnancy planning to bring a mentally and physically fit and healthy child in the world.
Offspring are the best assets for the parents. Those who have physically and mentally disabled child, know how difficult and painful it is!
So, this is high time to think about the lifestyle of us when we play the role of parents. It is required for the next generations proper growth. Because today’s children is the next generation leader and future of the society.
