A new study reveals that people are increasingly taking very high doses of vitamin D. Lack of exposure to sunlight is an important factor leading to low levels of vitamin D in blood. Studies in recent years have shown that deficiency of vitamin D in general population is much more common than previously thought. This has led to widespread consumption of supplemental vitamin D. However, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that in very high levels can be damaging to body. Now, a new study has shown that increasingly more people are taking very levels of vitamin D. This can be an alarming piece of information that should prompt proper measures to prevent occurrence of vitamin D excess symptoms.
