But even if you do run at night here, you're probably fine
I almost didn't go for a run last night. I was exhausted from camping and driving, but lazing around and eating all of Saturday had me feeling stagnant. I really didn't feel like running, so convinced myself to just take it really easy and only do what I felt like. Those always seem to be the days that I end up doing the longer distances. When the pressure is off, my body actually really enjoys running.
I could have made smarter decisions about my route for a night-time run, as I ended up going through some of the rougher parts of the downtown core (up Jarvis and along Carlton), but one of the things I love about Toronto is how safe it is. There is something truly special about this city. It was the perfect temperature - still nice and hot, but with just enough of a breeze to provide those little reprieves. Ended the run by coming down through Trinity Bellwoods park, one of my faves, and marvelled at the beauty of the moon as I was stretching afterwards. You can see the sliver of it just over the roof in the middle of this photo.
When are your favourite times of the day to run? Do you enjoy the heat?
Stay tuned ;)
