What we put in our bodies is what fuels us. As I've gotten older and more responsible, I've come to realize that eating a bag of chips for breakfast does not count as breakfast. This past two months, I have been challenging myself to eat healthier and cook more. Making home cooked meals is more healthy than eating out, and it also helps save so much money! Plus, I figured it was about time, that I learned the valuable skill of cooking.
This weekend and I went to the Sacramento's farmers market to buy fresh produce. We love eating salads for lunch, so it was the perfect time to stock up on our vegetable.
This is an overall view of the farmers market.
Since the fruits and vegetables are coming directly from a local farm, the produce tend to be fresher than produces from a grocery store. I've even noticed that the prices are cheaper!
After shopping around we ended up with a table full of groceries and we only spent $44.00 between the two of us. (This food will probably cover most of our meals this week).
If you have never been to your local farmer's market, I highly encourage you to check it out. Not only will you be supporting local farmers, but you will usually get the freshest produce!
Cheers to eating well and living a happy healthy life.
love,
Karen
