Maple syrup extracts has shown signs of being able to reduce the amount of antibiotics that is required to kill disease-causing bacteria.
A team of researchers at McGill University in Montreal has revealed that a phenelic-rich extract from maple syrup (responsible for maple syrup's color) has a combining outcome on frequently used antibiotics. This permits the drugs to pass through bacteria with no much effort so as to carry out their required task.
Once the effect of the antibiotics is improved, the extract significantly lowers the quantity required to kill the bacteria by as much as 97%.
