I have been a little hesitant about using the Natural Medicine front end, to share my novel writing process, as I wondered if it fitted the bill. But, now I think of it, there's quite a lot of mindfulness in my story and, besides writing being my personal #naturalmedicine , the same goes ( in a way ) for the writer character in my book.
During the story in the story - a fellow writer called it META and said he liked that - Hypersensitivosaurus morphs into SUPERsensitivosaurus, as the writer realizes that he's so much affected by his writing ( not that strange as it's main character / main dino is based on him ), that he needs to make changes to feel better. Yes, he's thinking of himself first. The reader is his second priority. Nothing wrong with being selfish, especially if it concerns your health. We can only take care of others, if we first take care of ourselves.
Anyhow, talking about taking care of ourselves ( should I get another bowl of vegetable soup? I think I should ), today I'm feeling somewhat better than yesterday. I managed to do a little more writing - 1475 words - which brings me at the grand total of 14144 words. Almost a third of the 50k and just above the nanowrimo safety line, on track to reach a personal record setting word count goal, before the end of the month ( as can be seen in the following picture ):
I hope to be able to keep writing this weekend, as I will be kid sitting my 3 year old niece and 5 year old nephew tomorrow and the day after. No matter what, I will bring my laptop to my sister's place and at least try to write, when I can find the time. If I explain the situation to them ( Uncle Vincent is writing a book and it's very important for him, it's kind of a race ), they will hopefully understand.
Talking about mindfulness, I might even try some meditation with them ( just to have fun ), as my almost 6 year old nephew seems to be somewhat interested in it. He has seen me doing it quite a lot and keeps calling it 'conducteren' ( instead of the Dutch 'mediteren' ) which always cracks me up. It's sweet though :>)
Without further delay, whether you like my words or not, here's some more words that I wrote today. It's either not sharp at all ( and I don't get why or my eyes are extremely tired ( they are ) but I hope you are able to read it anyway.
Time for me to relax, have another bowl of soup, stop the screen staring for tonight ( will possibly still do some old-fashioned or E-reading though ) and hit the hay early.
