Hi HIVIANs,
today I would like to introduce you to a simple recipe: The Vitamin C Bomb!
As many surely know, Vitamin C is an important factor for our health!
But before I will present you the recipe, I would like to briefly explain the tasks of vitamin C:
- Vitamin C contributes to normal functioning of the immune system during and after intense physical activity.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for normal function of blood vessels (bones, cartilage function, gums, skin, teeth).
- Vitamin C contributes to normal mental function.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal immune system function.
- Vitamin C contributes to protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Vitamin C contributes to reduction of fatigue and tiredness.
- Vitamin C increases iron absorption.
- Vitamin C contributes to regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.
So much for the background.
Now on to the recipe!
What is needed:
- one organic lemon
- a kitchen grater
- a citrus press
- a teapot incl. filter (alternatively, tea bags also work, of course)
- and water (ideally filtered)
1. grate the lemon peel
Since the peel also contains a lot of nutrients, the peel is used in this recipe. Therefore, it is important that you use the lemons in organic quality! This is grated as well as possible with the kitchen grater. Nice side effect: The scent of the lemon stimulates the mind and senses while rubbing!
2. Put the lemon peel in a suitable tea caddy and pour boiling water on it
Alternatively, you can of course fill a simple tea bag with the peel and pour. The whole thing is then covered for circa 10 minutes for brewing:
3. Squeeze the lemon juice
Since the juice contained in the lemon is also of high importance, we need to squeeze it out of the lemon. For this, the best thing to use is a citrus juicer - alternatively, you can put the lemon in a cotton diaper and squeeze - this way you separate the juice from the pulp:
4. Pour the juice into a cup and pour the brewed lemon peel tea over it.
The lemon juice is poured into an empty cup. After the lemon peel has been allowed to steep for about 10 minutes, the resulting tea is poured over the previously squeezed juice.
