Nothing has ever changed my physical activity level or inspired me to push myself as much as rock climbing has!
Every time I set foot out toward a crag (that's what we call the area of rocks/walls that we'll be climbing), it is a completely different and new experience. Even if it's the same place I've seen a hundred times, I never know how my body and mind will work together to get me up (or not get me up) the wall.
Climbing is the only form of exercise I've experienced that is completely dependent on my mental state. If I'm sad, mad, nervous or not feeling well, I won't be able to perform, no matter how hard I tell my body to do it. On the other hand, when my body and mind work together, I've been able to overcome fears and push myself beyond what I would have ever thought I was capable of doing!!
I highly recommend trying rock climbing to anyone who is looking for an adventurous sport that will take you to new places, introduce you to a rich culture and allow you to push yourself to do things you'd never imagine that you were capable of!
Thanks to for putting this competition together! I'm excited to see what others are doing out in nature for their health!
