In the southeastern part of Nigeria lies a beautiful and massively populated mass of land called Anambra State. Now, the name Anambra is actually from the original name Oma Mbala which is a name of a river in the Igbo land and is an anglicized version of it.
In Anambra, they have lots of important cities but the Capital is known as Awka. Now, the Capital and seat of government is popular too but not as popular as the thriving city of Onitsha which is widely know throughout the world as a trade center and business city.
The theme of the state is "LIGHT OF THE NATION" and it is one of the five major Igbo states in the country.
Anambra state has boundaries to the west with are the Delta State and to the south, Imo and Rivers States are bordering it. On the Eastern side, Enugu State serves as a good border and towards the north, you leave Igbo land and enter Kogi which lies there bordering it from other Northern States.
It also has the famous River Niger there and the Niger Bridge with a second bridge just concluded.
The State in the Federal Republic of Nigeria's most populated states ranks number eight and after that, it ranks second after Lagos State in population density due to its markets and business world.
Also, Anambra State is very rich in natural gas, ceramic, bauxite, and crude oil and this helps them in a way that they are the State with the least poverty in the Country.
