Edo State is a state in the Middle belt region of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and it has its capital named Benin City which has a large number of residents. It is made up of four major ethnic groups and these are the Edo also known as the Binis, the Esan, Owan and finally, the Etsako. With these little ethinic groups, it is notwithstanding as the State has a large number of Residents and these are not only the citizens but foreigners from all over the World and Country due to its cosmopolitan tendencies. The Capital of Benin City is historic in being one of the major cities that the Europeans visited when they first arrived in the African Continent to go about their exploration and this was about many centuries ago.
Now, some of these areas they visited and carried out their explorations have now become till this day, quite beautiful and scenery attractions for tourists and visitors to the state.
Due to this, when looking at the population in the state, you will see that the residents in the state are almost in an 8 Million approximate from the last census held.
Also, if coming to the State, the tourist attractions that would sweep you off your feet includes the Emotan Statue which is located in Benin City, the beautiful Ise Lake and the River Niger Beach in Agenebode, Etsako-East which the sea that has the beach extends all the way from Onitsha to the State the Mike Akhigbe Square located at fugar, the Ambrose Alli Square at Ekpoma and then the Okpekpe with its hills and beautiful scenery and lots more. Looking at the Resources in the state, you would see that they produce limestone, quarry and also the Liquid Black Gold also called Crude Oil.
