This modern Viking guy is so nice. He explained how Vikings used to live on this island, Birka. He showed us how to grind barleys using milling stones.
The lady next to the guy showed us and asked us to eat some bread which was baked used by flour which she got from ground barley. So tasty!
The nice Viking guy sells silk in Stockholm, and he told us that he stayed in Gunma, Japan to study silk. He explained that there is a motief of warriors which was created in Kazakhstan.
And, the design spread to Sweden in the Viking era as well as to Japan in the Tenpyo era. What a cool story that connects ancient Sweden and ancient Japan.
I would like to visit there again someday!
ビルカ、世界遺産に登録されているヴァイキング時代の遺跡🇸🇪
友人に誘われ一緒に一緒に行った、このヴァイキング遺跡。 テレビなどでみているヴァイキングのイメージを覆される、新たな発見がたくさんあり勉強にもなりました。 ヴァイキングの身長平均は１７０cm程度で、実はさほど高くないとかある意味衝撃的！ なぜか１９０cm近い長身の戦士のイメージでした。 ( ´艸｀) ビルカ博物案ではそういったヴァイキングのステレオタイプを修正してくれ、勉強にもなりました。
このヴァイキングの青年ですが、石臼を使用して大麦を挽いてくれました。 当時のヴァイキングの生活様式を詳しく説明してくれ、とてもよい観光が出来ました。
今はストックホルムで絹の販売をしている様で、実は日本にも滞在したことがあると言っていました。 群馬県富岡で絹の勉強をしたらしく、その際、カザフスタンから伝播した武将をモチーフにしたとても似た柄がヴァイキング時代のスカンジナビアや天平時代の日本へ伝来したと説明してくれました。
日本とスウェーデンを結ぶとても素敵な話を教えてもらい、旅のよい思い出になりました。
In the summer, until the end of September, Birka is open to tourists, but during the winter is closed. So, come visit during it's open to public 😉

It's very cool to see "modern Vikings" who live in the village to demonstrate their native Viking lifestyle. They keep as authentic as possible!! 😀🙌👍
