We stopped by Kalmar Cathedral before we leave the town. We decided to do some sightseeing in central Kalmar city.

It has been here almost 400 years in central Kalmar. The interior design is very beautiful and magnificent. It is such a nice experience in the cathedral to understand each other no matter what one believes in. 👍🙏
カルマル市内観光はカルマルに来てから行っていなかったので、最終日に行いました。 先ずはカルマル聖堂を見学。 大聖堂内は本当に静寂の空間が拡がり、写真撮っていいのかなぁ。。。と少し躊躇したのですが、祈りの空間を邪魔にならない程度に見学しそこを後にしました。 日本では江戸時代初期、１６００年代に建造されたこの大聖堂はカルマル市民の心の中心として今まで支えてきたのかなぁ～なんて思いました。 時代は移り変わるもので、現代ではスウェーデンは欧州でもトップに数えられるほど世俗社会（宗教を信じない割合が多い）になり、この大聖堂も今後どの様に変わっていくのかぁなんて思いました。
It is so beautiful inside the cathedral. It has been the center of people's hearts in Kalmar for more than 400 years old. 😁👏
The alter in the cathedral looks pretty cool 😎 To be honest, I've never been in the mass, but I think it is a nice experience to understand each other no matter what religion one believes in. 🤝
Then, we moved to central Kalmar city for some sightseeing before we leave the town.
After we left the cathedral, we moved to the Kalmar central square in town. There is a beautiful fountain which the motief is David fighting against Goliath. What I got interested in was the motief of the fountain. I believe that it was about the celebration of Sweden's Independence from the Kalmar Union. It was designed and minted says "1523" when Kalmar got independent of the Kalmar Union. 🙌
So, they used to regard Denmark as Goliath. LOL! What a history! And, I admire that how their perspective changed towards Denmark after 400 years. At least, they do not fight against Denmark anymore, which is GOOD! 👍 Well, I am not sure 100%, so if it was wrong, well, sorry!
大聖堂の見学の後は、カルマル市内にある広場へ向かいました。 徒歩で大体、５分程度でしょうか。 金曜日と土曜日の夜はバンドがバー🍻🍷の中で演奏されていて、市民の憩いの場所として親しまれていました。 中央にある噴水はモチーフがとてもきれいで、よく見るとダビデとゴリアテの戦いを主題としているようでした。 土台のモチーフが気になり、何について描かれているのか分からなかったのですが、「１５２３」の数字をググると、その年にカルマルがカルマル同盟から独立した年の様で、スウェーデンの独立記念日をお祝いしたモチーフかな？と思っています。（間違っているかもしれませんが。）
I thought it was such a beautiful building! But, it is a prison in Kalmar city! LOLOL!!! Prisons are beautiful in Sweden 😁👏
Then, we walked around the town. There was a gate to the outside of town. It seems that the whole Kalmar town is surrounded by walls and moats. This gate was one of the gates in the town, and it led to this beautiful building in the picture. Surprisingly, they renovated a historical building as a prison. What a practical renovation they did! But, it may be too good for prisoners? Anyways, even prisons are pretty in Sweden.
なんて綺麗な建物！とおもって見学してみると、なんと刑務所！ もともとは市内の高官の建物だったようですが、改築され現在では刑務所として使用されているようです。 その発想がスウェーデン👏 受刑者にも人権、ありますもんね。 にしても、きれいな刑務所。
Now, it is time to say goodbye to the Old Water Tower in Kalmar city 👋👋👋
I should have taken some more pictures around the town. The whole city is surrounded by moats and walls, and it obviously tells that Kalmar has been such an important fortress in the southern part of Sweden. The main road leads to Kalmar Castle, and there is an old water tower near the gate. It looks like the whole town is like a huge fortress 👍
カルマル市内全体は堀と城壁に囲まれているようでした。 写真をあまりとっていないので、わかりにくてすみません。。。この城門を通ると城壁外へ行けて、カルマル城へ続く道に続いていました。 お堀と城壁の町、カルマル。 中世の面影を残したスウェーデン南部になるとても趣のある町でした。 何となく日本の今治城周辺を彷彿とさせる雰囲気がありました。 なんでも日本に例えるのはダメな癖ですね。😀👋
