Hello friends how are you all today,hope you are having a nice one today.Today i will show you guys a recipe my mom taught me on preparing vegetarian jollof rice.Is really easy to preapare and the ingredients also readily available.
INGREDIENTS
For the preparation you would be needing the ingredients mentioned below;
- green pepper
- green beans
- onions
- carrots
- curry powder
- all purpose seaoning or any other seasoning of choice
- pepper
- salt
- rice
PROCEDURE
While preparing this jollof rice first you would want to par boil the desired amount of rice you want to prepare or the amount intended to cook.Put the rice in a pot with a medium amount of water a let cook for some minutes.After letting cook for some minutes pour the par boiled rice out in a seive and let it loose its water content
While the rice is still cooking you can proceed to cut your vegetables out into chunks and ready to be cooked
Next you wanna put a meduim amount of groundnut oil into a pot.Let heat for some minutes a then you can add you vegetables all at the same time and stir gently
Let cook for some minutes and begin to season it with species.
First i add kitchen glory spiece to the boiling vegetables and oil and stirred
Next i added maggi season,two cubes of maggi seasoning to be pricise and also stir very well
Next add 1 and half table spoon of salt depending on your food quantity.And i have measured already before using my fingers.Add the salt and taste to check if the the salt quantity is at optimum level
Next add pepper to it.It could be grounded dry pepper or fresh red pepper and stir
After that you would add a few grams of water to the mixture and stir very well
Then add the all purpose seasoning and curry powder into it and stir very well also
Thats all for the seasoning of it next thing you would want to do is to add the rise much have already been parboiled.
And the rice into it and you can close up the pot and let it cook for 20 minutes or more
While is cooking you would be checking on it and giving it a taste making sure the taste is.
When is all done it should look something similar to the image below and you can eat it with fried plaintain.
Dosent it look appetising.
