Hi bloggers and food lovers, this week's menu is my entry for Qurator's Hive Top Chef! , hosted by . Since this week's theme is rice, I immediately thought of onigiri. Okay, let's get started:
Ingredients:
- 3 scoops of warm white rice
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 2 sausages
- 1/2 onion
- 1 egg
- 1/2 spring onion
- 1 tablespoon of chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
- 1 tsp salted soy sauce
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Nori
- 1 tablespoon margarine
Steps:
- Melt the margarine in a pan
- Sauté the onion until fragrant
- Add the sausage and spring onion, which have been cut into small pieces
- Sauté until fragrant
- Add the egg to the pan
- Scramble the eggs and cook them with the sausage
- Add chili flakes, pepper, and garlic powder
- Then add soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and chili sauce to the pan
Stir until well mixed and cooked
Turn off the heat and set aside
- Prepare warm rice in a bowl
- Add sesame oil into it and mix them
- Take the rice and flatten it
Add the sausage and egg filling
Cover with rice and press firmly with your hands
- Shape the rice into a triangle
- Stick the nori onto the triangular rice
- Arrange on a plate
- The egg sausage onigiri is ready to eat
