Hello Hivers of this community. Today I’m happy to share the foods that we prepare for my son’s third birthday party yesterday. The foods that we prepare are ube maja blanca, pancit bihon, macaroni soup, lumpiang shanghai, hotdogs with marshmallows and chicken “adobo sa gata” or when the chicken is cooked in soy sauce with coconut milk.
Yesterday wouldn’t be easy if I’m the only one who cooked all the food. Great thing I had companions who is my aunts in law. They were very helpful in times of need even if I wouldn’t say, they will help me to prepare. They are really a big help for me to prepare all the foods needed for son’s birthday party.
Actually, our main plan was just to go outside and eat at a restaurant but we just decided to prepare it at home, since there will be a typhoon coming, but when the day comes it turns out to be a sunny day. I already bought all the ingredients so we just continue to cooked it anyway. Maybe we will just go at a restaurant next time. Preparing food for your loved ones is still the best.
The ingredients for this dessert are 400 ml coconut milk, 2 cups water, 390 g condensed milk which is ube flavor or taro flavor, 360 ml evaporated milk, 4 tsp sugar, 200 g cornstarch dissolve in 1 and ½ cup water, whole corn kernels, cream corn and grated cheese.
First step is to mix all the ingredients in a pan except for the cornstarch dissolved in water and the grated cheese for toppings. Make sure to mix the ingredients before you open the stove, then set the fire for low-medium heat then keep on stirring until it boils add the cornstarch mixture. Keep on stirring for 10 minutes.
When the mixture is already thick put it on the “bilao” that’s how we call it on our local, bilao with banana leaves on it. The banana leaves were heated at the stove before putting it on the bilao.
When the ube maja blanca is already set, you can now grate some cheese on it’s top. I was happy because this time I perfectly cooked the pudding.
Meanwhile, my aunts are preparing the ingredients needed for the pancit bihon and macaroni soup or we call it “sopas” on our local. My aunt is a great cook here at our place, whenever there are occasions like this, she was the one to call to cook for their food.
For dinner we had some chicken “adobo sa gata’. I didn’t get the chance to take a picture on how he cooked this one because I was busy that time. Maybe next time I will share it. This chicken was cooked with soy sauce and coconut milk. Its taste was really delicious. We really enjoyed the food.
I’m grateful to all my family who help me prepare the food for my son’s birthday, this wouldn’t be easy without them. Also, the people really enjoyed their time with us. I also thank God for giving my son another year of his life.
That’s all for today my hiver friends who loves sharing food recipe on this community. See you on my next food blog. Thank you.
