During the last few summers I was able to take several nice pictures of beautiful butterflies collecting nectar from different flowers. It was a nice experience watching them and the different species have such different beautiful colors. In conbination with the often colorful flowers the butterflies feed on the pictures can be great, Wonderfull how nature has created such a beautiful species with so many different colors, shapes and sizes. There are butterflies that are a lot bigger than others and some of them are really really small, but nearly every species has its beauty.
I met several different butterflies here in different habitats, some of them like dry meaddows, others like special bushes and others like special flowers that they feed on. Often also the catapilar already decides what kind of flowers the butterfly is attracted to. Some butterflies, especially in the tropics, have several generations in a year, while others have a single generation, and a few in cold locations may take several years to pass through their entire life cycle.
