At last the warm-up trail is at the end chapter ! Ah, feeling out of stresses and the state of restlessness is finally over. Although it may seem bit relaxing to me, but I am not at all satisfied by the performance that the Tiger squad made in their 2nd occasion. England seemed as to outplay them in the hype of batting.
What it looks to me that, losing a game isnt a matter of shame, if its played well. But when a team is in serious miscalculations on many of the game departments - then there are questions which would arise normally. I am not going to make the squad very liable for the loss and put them inside the hedge for being so, but after all when they lose to a clear big margin, then its a matter of concern.
Warm up match isnt a big deal, to me it is as petty significant as smashing some sixes in the net at the time of practice sessions ; for bowlers part - flexing their arms and sweating it out to sharpen the skills that every bowler naturally has. What I think is that, warm up match is just for basic preparation - the making up of temperament & habit of performing and scoring well, getting accustomed to playing for a long time on the "crickets biggest stage".
At the end of the day,The achievement list that the team has (1 satisfactory win,1 bitter loss) out of 2 matches played part by a single individual team. There are some bunches of scorecards, performance lists, charts and figures, full of statistics where individual and team performances passed in tests and in margins where they failed to large scale.
I think, as the players have done their duties, its the coach and managing boards time to settle in and chalk out how they would make approaches, teach the players to learn and improve and overcome on mistakes they have made and adjustments as possible. Just bunch of days before starting the first match in this world cup edition, that much they should do and bring on.
But, again what is still bringing the headache to me is - yesterday's performance and they cant just pass away from criticisms for their deeds. The memories are fresh and every single time focuses turn on to the batting order failure.
In their first match against Sri-Lanka they could able to grasp on to pass the 100+ runs mark without losing any wicket and the opening partnership is what kept them settling in to a well balanced base of runs. But this time, openers failed to do well in first 10 overs of the match which brought forth epic failure to settle in the foundation to enlarge their score to a nice total.
I would say, in one day cricket match, for any class batter the credit of playing well means to be able to have a "consistency" in his batting approach that finally contributes a team to win. It starts from scoring 30 to 40 and maintaining this similar range over and over again frequently. Of course, sometimes ducks or below 10 runs can happen and a batter can get out early, but that doesnβt help winning for a team. Bangladeshi side missed on that point - which resulted in losing the whole match.

Finally. Credit of winning this match should go fully to Bairstow's pump-up start, the way he opened up fire and helped the team reach 100 runs mark in 10 overs, chasing down 37 over a side match very early. Joe Root what I think played an anchor innings, not going for to play big shots and rotatr strikes time to time until securing the victory. Moeen Ali kept the runs going and his innings played the key role for England to win.
I guess, team Tigers learn from the match and take necessary precautions to start it all over with positive mind and constructive approach in their first match. All eyes and attentions surely would be there for sure and I wish them all the best.
