Interesting match today between Mechelen and Zulte-Waregem in the 2nd leg of the quarter Final in the Belgian Cup.
Kv Mechelen vs Zulte-Waregem
The first match ended in a 1-2 win for Mechelen in a match where they were the slightly better team while Zulte also managed to create chances. Now it's a month later and there is a situation where Zulte-Waregem has bigger troubles as they are in full relegation fight with a more important match upcoming in the weekend. They also dropped their overall form again and just clearly lack quality. Kv Mechelen is 10 points clear of a relegation place and can 100% put their focus and energy into this cup match being able to also count on their home support. The only real argument that can be made is that a draw or even a 1-goal loss would not be the end of the world which I see at the reason for the odds being as high as they are. For me, Mechelen is the team with more quality that plays at home and is able to put 100% of their focus on this match while Zulte-Waregem is back in a bad streak and likely will put more importance on the weekend match. They also will need to take risks while they haven't actually been as secure defensively. I already took an early bet last night on Mechelen but the odds keep going up so I increased my stake a bit. It's always tricky but I'm not going to overanalyze this one and I'm willing to lose if it would so be. I took a full 1 unit stake on
Kv Mechelen -0.25 @ 1.988 and I'm also eying Mechelen Team Total Over. I would also take a crypto bet but the available odds there are too far away from what the asian bookies are offering.
