This should have been a #proofofbrain post instead of a sports post really as I doubt if this person has a brain.
The Tour De France started today and it wasn't without drama. As you can see from the photograph above the riders were in cruise mode with no real danger except a dumb spectator with an extra long sign got involved. One way to get on camera and become villain of the peace as what happened next was pure carnage. Obviously this wasn't done on purpose and was down to a lack of brain cells from someone so desperate to be spotted on television. How embarrassing as she is now the villain with everyone knowing who she is for all the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately one rider was injured so severely his race was over on day one and is the first retirement through no fault of his own which seems unfair.
The second crash was more normal as two riders touched wheels doing over 60km/h which also bought down many other riders around them. This is unfortunately the biggest fear of the top contenders and they try and stay out in front to avoid such mishaps. A professional cyclist unfortunately is used to hitting the road surface and luckily are forced to wear helmets as it can happen at any time. Spectators need to be vigilant and on this occasion look at the mother and child on the top right. She grabs her child and spins into the bushes avoiding what could have been a nasty accident for both of them.
I think this highlights that there is danger for not only the cyclists but also the fans that line the course. Riders cannot guess what a spectator will do as this woman only put the sign up as the cyclists were passing so there was no warning. She was oblivious to the accident she was about to create through having no common sense and is just a complete idiot who is a danger to everyone around her.
Fans can make or break a Tour De France as we have seen incidents in the past with over enthusiastic fans interfering with the riders. One such incident in 2012 when over 30 riders suffered punctures just before a hill climb which turned out to be 100's of tacks had been strewn across the road. It is not just fans though as we have seen stray dogs cause serious damage. Who takes their dog to watch a cycle race and doesn't have it on a leash?

Back in 2007 the last thing you expect to encounter going at high speed.
This was day one so lets hope that is it for this year for freak accidents otherwise many riders will not see the finish line. The entire field was fortunate today that it only cost one rider his race.
