In bodybuilding, whether amateur or professional there is something called the bro split. It is very popular/famous and newbies learn about it and wonder what to really make of it. More experienced/professional bodybuilders already know enough to make the decision on using it but the opinions are split and there's some arguments about it's use.
The bro split is giving every body part their own day at the gym. Like instead of going to the gym and training multiple body parts you go to the gym and say today I'm only training chest, then tomorrow I would train arms, and next tomorrow legs, etc.
Sometimes it's not just one body part, though, it could be two. Like biceps and back, triceps and chest, legs and abs, etc.
The arguments are usually about whether it is efficient to focus on just one body part for the entirety of a session when you could also add other body parts. It's also about whether you'll succeed in getting all the body parts before the week is over and whether you wouldn't have been better served doing many of them together so if you miss some sessions at least you didn't miss out on a body part completely.
It is also about whether you'll be able to get a body part twice a week, because twice a week is also and important number to hit a body part in order to get enough growth, as that is what the science says.
My Experienced Take
1
I don't use the bro split.
I don't try to make separate days about separate body parts as a rule. Before I go to the gym I look at my body in the mirror and decide what parts needs more work and that's the part I focus on that day rather than having a weekly schedule of body parts as the bro split dictates.
I bet everyone's common sense would be in support once they look at it like this.
Different body parts respond faster than others so those parts would need less work than the ones that respond slowly. Plus you want a well rounded body and how else to get that without focusing on the parts that look like they need more work and then giving them more work? 🌚
This is all there is to it. If you're not good at pointing out what parts need more work then you can ask the people around you. You can even ask at the gym.

Even though I focus on a body part for that day I still throw in workouts for other major body parts. In fact every day that I workout I only completely neglect one or two body parts.
I could say today is for arms, but when I get it after doing all I want to do for arms I will throw in a little for legs, back and shoulders. Which means I've only left out abs and chest. Stuff like that. This way my body's chance at getting a full spread increases.
Conclusion
Bodybuilding is a sport of size and aesthetics, but especially aesthetics, and what is aestheticism without creativity?
Huh? 🌚
