Hello, food lovers!
It's my pleasure sharing with you my simple recipe. It is made up of glutinous rice flour. A Filipino recipe called Palitaw de Yema. Supposedly, we have our own rice flour in our country. But since I am here in the middle east, I'm using this kind of rice flour imported by a certain company from Thailand.
It is 500 grams worth 2 USD
Palitaw in Tagalog means Floating in English. When the rice balls float , it will be the indication that the balls are well cooked. It is a kind of Filipino delicacy for breakfast or snack time.
How to make Palitaw de Yema?
I will show you the simple steps.
Ingredients:
250 grams rice flour
4 egg yolks
200 grams condense milk
Dessicated coconut/young grated coconut is the best.
Water for making the dough(estimated)
Making the yema.
Separate the eggyolk from the eggwhite. We only need the eggyolks.
Put in a pan adding the condense milk. Stirring it gently with a very low heat until dry.
Set a side and put in a fridge for 5 minutes.
Making the rice flour dough.
Prepare a 250 grams of rice flour then add water in moderate way until it will form a homogenous dough.
Divide it into 25 to 30 balls.
Flatten the dough, add the eggyolk and condensed made yema.
Form it into balls again. When you already finish stuffing the balls, set aside.
Boiled a water in moderately heat.
Add all the balls at once. It depends upon the space. Be careful not to stick with each other.
For 5 to 10 minutes, you will notice the balls will float alone on the top of the boiling water. It means the balls are already well cooked and ready to eat.
Remove the balls from the boiling water.Put it in a dry plate.
Optional: You can dip it to the dessicated coconut or not. It will be your choice.
This is the finished product. I just cooked the half part of the dough so I could post my entry for today.
My boss eat my balls before I took a picture with my steemit user's name. Thanks God , there are two remaining for my proof of my ownership.
All pictures are mine and I am cooking it freshly and just.
