The recipe for a near-perfect day in autumn in Corfu (or anywhere else) with a rental car. In the event that you are not planning to be pampered by the sun that day, the gradually cooling sea, without climbing a higher mountain, seems chilly.
You get up with the first rays of the sun at around 7:30 a.m., which does not cause any problems with waking up even for a bear who likes to take a morning nap. You will understand the beauty of a perfect day only by rising with the sun and accompanying it that same evening. Without sunrise and sunset, the day loses some of the colors that it is a great luxury to waste.
Whatever your breakfast is, choose feta, tomatoes, cucumber, herbs and olives. This is the best that Greece has to offer in the morning. Both the colors match and the taste far exceeds expectations. All the other things I would recommend for lunch and dinner.
I recommend drinking your morning coffee at the Paleokastritsa cafe with a view of La Grotta Lounge and Pub. You will have a wonderful scenery, illustrated by young people jumping pirouettes into the waves from the springboard. I recommendate you to drink not only hot but also cold coffee with espresso and milk or chocolate ice cream. No sugar, no milk and no crap called Nescafe.
Next point, after caffeine, opened our eyes in full possible format - the ancient Castle of Angelo Castro on the top of a hill. The climb is not difficult - it is still morning. It is one of the objects worth paying attention to on this island. Since you will warm up here, even if the sun is not shining that day, so on the way north, you will go swimming at Agios Georgios beach (swimming, sand - what else do you need).

After refreshment, a pleasant walk awaits you, up to the Porto Timoni Viewpoint. You need to drive persistently to the end of the town of Afionas on the right, where you will see a road sign, 'dead end' and, after reaching the cliff, you will find an undiscovered (unpaid) parking lot on the left. From here it is the closest and most convenient to reach the rock, from which the wonderful union of the two beaches opens. You follow the path towards the beaches and when the path divides, turn right, not down to the beaches of Porto Timoni.
Walk along the lines of the sharp thorns of bushes, persistently to the back of the mountain, climbing on which, the blessings for your eyes and mind will welcome you. Unfortunately, there is no other way to go back.
Since you have already worked on your feet, lunch awaits you at the 7th Heaven cafe, with royal views and a glass bridge hanging over the fabulous cliff. I recommend fish and the oldest Greek beer, Mamas.
After recharging your batteries, a short walk along the cliffs of the halva structure and the colors of Cape Drastis, admiring the wave-washed RoVii island awaits you again.
The next point, the famous D' Amour Bay - the superstitious beach for lovers. Something should be done there to achieve infinite love... Maybe.
At the end of the day, the last object of a busy day remains, Mount Pantokrator, the highest mountain in Corfu with the sunset, and if you don't get dizzy while climbing the mountain in serpentine road, then you should compensate it by holding a glass of the Greek symbol Metaxa 12, or at least 7 in a Pantokrator Café Bar. Juicy orange cake with a cup of espresso would also enrich your imagination and palate. To the sea of beautiful images, you need some smells and tastes. And ask them to put a small piece of scented orange in the Metax, or at least the dried peel of it.
Because you had a really productive day today, your head is full of impressions, your phone is full of topographical images that others take all week while traveling on long and expensive time-wasting routes, so after a good dose of serpentine descent, you deserve a royal dinner, the spirit of the Mediterranean Sea, at a completely unroyal price.
For your attention, Restaurant Vergina and even two giant grilled squids for €8. I would suggest a new and good Corfu Beer Premium Lager for the set. The seafood is more than enough for two if you don't plan to continue the evening in the charming old town of Corfu.
Try this or a similar day on any of your trips and you will discover a different approach to recreation. Forget the package "all" and life will be painted in other colors. Don't be a consumer, but become a taster of life!
