This Sunday has been a bit out of the ordinary. Last night, my son had a party, and it turned out that the location of the party was rather outside the city in a rural area in the mountains surrounding the southeast of Caracas. And although my son and some friends are of legal age, they don't go out in the car at night. So we took him.
The place was so far away, about 45 minutes without traffic from our house. So everyone ended up staying at the house of the party until the morning.
And early this morning, the husband and I went out to pick up our son and a couple of his friends. So it was kind of a little journey we took to pick them up.
The morning was sunny so going to the site was much nicer than the night before in the dark.
On the country road, we came across practically only a couple of cars. But outside one house, there was a beautiful old car, which I had to photograph and which looked like a Rover to me.
The road was narrow and almost empty.
At one point, we came across a dog sleeping with his blanket in the middle of the road. He got a bit angry because we disturbed his rest to let us pass.
The boys were a bit shattered. They'd had a good time at the party, but they were sleepy and cold and hungover. So we came back and left them at home, and the husband and I went for breakfast.
We went to a place to eat arepas, which we hadn't been to before. Their version of the Reina Pepeada (shredded chicken and avocado) doesn't have mayonnaise but yogurt, and it was delicious. My husband had one filled with pork which was also tasty. We accompanied our arepas with coffee and a lemon and papelón juice. The place is also nicely decorated, so we will surely come back.
Back home, we were tired, and it was still mid-morning. The idea was to spend the rest of the day quietly at home. But at the end of the afternoon, my son and his friend ambushed me. And we ended up with one more member of the family.
Later in the week, I will tell you more. No name yet.
