My sourdough buns have happily been selling up a storm at the market. It's a mixed blessing because not only have we become accustomed to eating what I don't sell, but nearly a year later, we are simply not eating commercially made bread. So, it was a bunless meatfree burger night fo supper last night.
At first glance, these burgers look a little mingy but they were not. The Husband declared them delicious and satisfied with two. I used Nina's Best Veggie Burger recipe (I am at last getting them right) and served them on rings of roasted sweet potato instead of buns, with a vegan garlic mayo, onion marmalade, cucumber ribbons and slices of tomato.
I will definitely be doing this again (or on butternut rings) When I inevitably have a dearth of buns.
Lose the cheese and tzatziki, and it would be/or substitute with vegan alternatives to turn this into an entirely plant-based meal.
Until next time, be well
