The perfect storm! Not literally, but gosh, it has been quite an eventful month!
Moving in, still unpacking and settling in, my new home became a kind of private 'step-down' facility for my older brother after multiple injuries. Last week I showed you the lovely route where we were walking, a part of his daily program to strengthen his hip injury. Good opportunity to get myself back to some form of fitness.
He recovered nicely and was well enough to return home when a freak accident nearly took his finger off!
Bounced back to Sis, and more intensive TLC followed. Stitches have now been removed, and he's back home, with strict instructions to stay put and out of harm's way! Not easy for someone who is not used to sitting around doing nothing.
Onto Hive Powerup
Last month I said:
It is quite unreal to think that we will be having our last power-up day of the year in just a month's time!
Even more unreal now that the day has come - where have the months gone!
The shopping malls are adorned with festive Christmas lights, and now that I'm more or less settled into a new home, with the promise of new beginnings, I am looking forward to spending special times with family and friends. Best of all, my son will be coming home to experience life in my new little haven, where I am starting to catch my breath again!
Why do many of us power up on Hive Power Up Day?
explains:
The first reason is to have fun and get a badge!
And here are some other great reasons to power-up your HIVE:
- Strengthen your influence on the blockchain with stronger votes on content, proposals and witnesses.
- Earn more curation rewards. The more Hive Power you have, the more you can potentially earn back
- Earn "interest" by holding Hive Power. You will also earn HIVE passively at about 3% per year of what you currently have powered up so the more HIVE you have, the more you can earn from just holding!
Finally, several amazing members are offering prizes that include delegations, Hive giveaways, and other cool stuff to the Hive PUD participants.
For the past couple of months, I managed to increase my Hive Power by at least 1K per month purely from blogging. I always use most of my HBD to convert to Hive and power up, but I went a little further this month and bought a tiny bit of low-priced Hive using Fiat, powered up 450 Hive, and ended up with 34,200 HP.
Happy to have managed a slow but steady growth this year, and still being in HODL'ing mode.
