if more folks would use the mute button instead of down-voting stuff that their ego-selfish-ego can't handle, this blockchain may would be a 'better' place and could even attract a few more of the desperately wanted (?) new users

I agree!!! When I complained to a whale about capricious downvoting, he told me I could tip accounts that are downvoted if I like them so much. I never see the downvoters tipping accounts that they like though. What would happen to my stake if I made up for a $1 downvote that happened on every single post of a certain account? It'd be gone right quickly, and that account would end up with far less than if they could earn on their posts!
