Last weekend I visite the Wetlands of the Inn River together with Stefan and I already showed you some pictures of the Kingfischer I found there. But I was lucky to also take several pictures of the night herons that live there in a colony and several other birds that I will show you in a future post here on Hive. Since the Night herons are pretty shy birds it is not so easy to get so close to them like we did the last time. We only had a little camouflage to protect us from their sight. But this was one of the toughest places to take some pictures of birds because there where thousands of mosquitoes that wanted to "eat" us and even a lot of mosquito repellant didn't help from keeping them away.

Sometimes you really need to sacrifice your own comfort to take some pictures like these. In winter, it can be pretty cold, windy and ugly weather, in summer it is usually the heat or some insects that makes the life of the nature photographer more difficult. So at least you can distinguish from the others that are not willing to do the extra step.
“The winners are simply willing to do what losers won't.” - Million Dollar Baby by Clint Eastwood.
I don't want to make a big show about it but some times I am still very proud of the pictures I can take, in comparison to some others that are not so persistant.
