I was told Kikay was a shamo breed chicken and my mum got it From a shop that sells culled chickens from diff9farms in our locality.
Farm culls livestock in different reasons but my mum got I love with the shamo breed chicken and bought some to cross breed with her native chickens in the hope that will increase muscle mass and will expidite growth so she could sell them even sooner.
Upon arrival, Kikay still lays brown eggs and my mum put them on another hen's nest for foster having high hopes that it will soon hatch and new chisks will come out. But the egg was infertile and did not hatch. Soon Kikay got used to the male rooster my mum had and they fell inlove; and for now, we are still waiting for the new crossbred chicks to come.
A few days ago, photographed Kikay while strolling around on a love morning. She was dighing dirt to larvae for protein, yet she did not find any and soon went to the bamboo feeder and ate her usual food.
Chickens are so valuable to us: I remember that whe I was a kid, we already chickens and my parents either sell them to buy food or slaughter the fot us to eat. Not only that, chickens were sold so my parents could provide for our daily monetary needs not only for food but also in school.
Not only that they were reared for livestock but also as pets. It's never hard to fall I love with chickens!
