The two previous ones have mysteriously died but we have two new ones.
This time round we are not giving them names as it hurts when I have to bury them, like I did with the previous pair.
So they are Cape Robin-chats (Cossypha caffra) and they love to bath on a rainy day.
I have shown you the party that the squirrels and the doves had in the rain today HERE
And now it was the Robin's turn to give us a show. They are clever little birds and waited for the geese to clear the garden of other birds before they then appeared.
So come and see.
Not an easy guess here, but you can decide which one is the male and which one is the female.
All that I know is that the male is a violent bather as above and the female is a more delicate bather as below.
So who is it then to be? My guess is that the one below is the female, but I might be wrong?
And this is the one that I think is the male, as he has that "look"?
They are of course most welcome here and it is a very pleasant sight especially as we lost the previous pair recently. Since that experience we are hesitant to create a new bond, but Marian has started to also feed them with dried worms. We loved Robbie and his wife and we miss Robbie's start of the day call, but I am sure that the new guy will also start to sing soon.
So be it and life goes on and we are happy with the gift of these two.
And That's All Friends!
