I ran a search today looking for the word, "motion" I was somewhat surprised to see how many shots I've created where motion is a major part of the image.
Waiting for the Ghost Tram
Here I've timed the start of the shot just before the tram departs making the tram itself partly transparent. It took a few attempts to nail and I ended up feeling like a train spotter waiting for the next tram to arrive....
"GoFlo"
I suffered a tripod failure on this evening where I needed an Allen key to tighten up the tripod head but went with the flow anyway and bagged this. First I panned the circuit board then changed lenses pointed at the running Neil. All done with the same tripod in the same position; much harder than swapping tripods...
Human Traffic
I managed to avoid the tripod police in Canary Wharf, London to capture the hustle of motion as people cross the futuristic footbridge over to Cross Rail Place.
Overlooking Canary Wharf aka I hate London
My annual pilgrimage to London to remind me how much I hate the damned place and it's collection of rude Audi drivers, many many speed cameras, light pollution and air that isn't fit to breathe! So unfit, the sky shrouded the top of this new tower block under construction!
The Bucket List Shot
There aren't many people stupid or crazy enough to stand in a 40mph wind with a windchill factor of about -12 degrees C in the middle of nowhere shooting traffic trails in the dark. But and I are those idiots.
Shot in one exposure, this was lit entirely by moonlight and a passing car. We did try one or two shots with me driving up and down the hill with a LED Lenser X21r2 strobing in the back of the car but it appeared a bit overexposed and somewhat dangerous driving back up the hill again!!
Extra stupid points go to me for doing this on my birthday!
Kinetic Nights
A night in sheltering from the cold saw me messing around with a circuit board and a macro lens to capture this abstract, out of focus shot. The stripe is created by panning the camera across frame over an Ikea Gamsebo multi-coloured bulb. All shot in one photographic exposure, this isn't a Photoshop creation.
About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
