I'm currently revisiting some of my earlier works as I upload them onto our workplace intranet on an employees photography page. The company I work for, which I won't name is a worldwide company so the internal intranet goes around the globe, and I'm trying to build my name for photography and being a creative sort of person. So that said I have revisited the below shots.
During Lockdown I was suffering withdrawl symptoms wanting to get out and shoot. One type of photography I enjoy is Lightpainting which is both colourful and creative, so I looked around online and found a technique that I could do at home, with limited space, which involved using a mirror which I dropped water onto, then an item to photograph (Safety pin) and then I used my Kindle with a colourful image lent over the top. I then photographed the reflection in the mirror.
I used the same technique with an ornate lightbulb but might revisit that on here with another post. These of the safety pin are my favourites and would led themselves nicely to an album cover of a punk band I think!
Below are some of the sample images and a BTS shot..
As a photographer I try to mix what I do in my shots, I've done still life, some macro work, lightpainting and I enjoy a good model shoot. If you'd like to check out any of my other work I'm on Facebook, or you can find me on Instagram under neilru75
