Hi Hive folks,
I'm starting to miss nights out with other creative light junkies. At least I have used the long lockdown period here in germany to work on other techniques. It's a good training for me.
In this shot I mainly moved the camera (panning and rotating). In parts, the light was also moved.
For the pattern on the edge, I used El-Wire. It was stretched and placed in front of the camera. Then I mounted the camera on my CRT (Camera Rotation Tool) and rotated the camera around the lens axis while capturing the image.
The light figure in the middle consists of several rotations. In this case, a 30 cm LED strip was placed on an old bicycle rim and rotated.
Sigma 28-70 mm @48 mm f/10 ISO 100 for the El-Wire
mid-exposure tripod and lens swap to the Samyang 14 mm for the Rotations in the middle of the frame.
Total exposure time: 673 sec.
The image was taken in several steps, during a longexposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.
Have a nice week.

What is Light Painting?
Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.
