This picture was taken in a similar way and I will give you some BTS informations about it.
In the first part of the picture I took a macro shot of this glass pyramid and illuminated it with light from the side. Lens cap on and swapped to a wide-angle lens for the second part. This happens during exposure.
The second part of the image shows a triangle, which is then rotated with my CRT.
I cut out the triangle from a piece of black cardboard and behind it I made a piece of holo/rainbow paper.
Between the black cardboard and the holo/rainbow paper I placed a strip of multicolor LED.
Now the triangle just needs to be rotated with my Camera Rotation Tool (CRT)
When I have selected the desired exposure using test images, I start the run through for the final image.
- Start the exposure and lit the pyramid, lens cap on and swap the lens from macro (40 mm) to wide-angle lens. Mount the camera on another tripod for the triangle. Lens cap off and rotate the triangle 10 times at 36 degree. Stop exposure and done.
The image was taken in several steps, during a longexposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.
