The Colonel Has No One to Write to Him. My first incursion in this literary community and how else could it be, but talking about the Latin American writer and journalist Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This Colombian writer was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, being one of the world's great exponents of this genre, thanks to his remarkable works. Gabriel is considered the master of magical realism and third person omniscient narrative; that is, he knows everything that happens in the work without having to be a character in it. But well; Garcia Marquez author of great works such as Sciences Years of Solitude, The Tale of a Naugrago, Chronicle of a Death Foretold and many more; in our country Venezuela has been and still is famous, especially in the educational area of secondary and high school.

I say that here it is famous in the educational aspect; since it is a mandatory subject in the area of Spanish and literature, to read and perform literary analysis of his works. At least in my case; in my student days, I had to do this activity with the aforementioned works and with the novel that I present to you today; El Coronel no Tiene Quien Le Escriba. In fact; currently searching for literary works in my home, I stumbled upon it and what memories, because the novel has my name, the year and section of that moment printed on it. It was nice to have it in my hands and I decided to remember those moments when I read it again; of course, García Marquez's works can be enjoyed at any time, because they simply do not bore; they are highly entertaining and leave you asking for more.

El Coronel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba. Mi primera incursión en esta comunidad literaria y de que otra forma podría ser, sino hablando del escritor y periodista Latinoamericano Gabriel García Marquez. Este escritor colombiano fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Literatura, siendo unos de los grande exponentes mundiales de este género gracias a sus inmuneeables obras. Gabriel es considerado el maestro del realismo mágico y de la narrativa en tercera persona de tipo omnisciente; es decir, sabe todo lo que ocurre en la obra sin necesidad de ser personaje en ella. Pero bueno; García Marquez autor de grandes obras como Ciencias Años de Soledad, El Relato de un Naugrago, Crónica de una Muerte Anunciada y muchas más; en nuestro país Venezuela ha sido y aun es famoso, más que todo en el área educativa de secundaria y bachillerato.

Digo que aquí es famosos en el aspecto educativo; ya que es materia obligada en el área de castellano y literatura, leer y realizar los análisis literarios de sus obras. Por lo menos mi caso; en aquellos tiempos de estudiante, me tocó realizar esta actividad con las obras antes mencionadas y con la novela que les presento hoy; El Coronel no Tiene Quien Le Escriba. De hecho; actualmente haciendo búsqueda de obras literarias en mi hogar, me topé con ella y vaya que recuerdos, porque la novela tiene impreso mi nombre, el año y sección de ese momento. Fue grato tenerla en mis manos y me propuse recordar esos momentos al volverla a leer; claro está, que las obras de García Marquez pueden ser disfrutadas en cualquier instante, porque sencillamente no aburren; son sumamente entretenidas y te dejan pidiendo más.

Entering into the subject and reliving those moments, we can observe that as we navigate through the pages of this great work, little by little we enter into the character's reality; his loneliness, a hope that always keeps him on his feet, even though at times he feels frustrated, believing in a promise that with the passing of time does not seem to arrive; however, he had never lost that gift of perseverance and is perceived as a resilient man. The work always reflects the human quality of the characters in a decadent social environment; an environment that is currently lived in many parts of the world.

What strikes me most about this work, is that it is very simple and easy to understand; because it leaves us a profound message and perhaps what I said in previous lines, is that it gives us that sense of humanity, when we face situations that seem lost, but our faith and personality show the opposite; from my point of view, this reflects the feelings of many people in real life.

Entrando en materia y reviviendo aquellos momentos; podemos observar que al navegar por las páginas de esta grandiosa obra; poco a poco nos vamos adentrando en la realidad del personaje; su soledad, una esperanza que lo mantiene siempre en pie, a pesar de que en momentos se siente frustrado, por creer en una promesa que con el pasar del tiempo parece no llegar; sin embargo, jamás había perdido ese don de perseverancia y se percibe como un hombre resiliente. La obra siempre refleja la calidad humana de los personajes en un ambiente social decadente; ambiente que actualmente es vivido en muchas partes del mundo.

Lo que más me llama la atención de esta obra, es que es muy sencilla y facil de entender; porque nos deja un profundo mensaje y tal vez lo dije en lineas anteriores, es que nos da ese sentido de humanidad, cuando nos enfrentamos a situaciones que parecen perdidas, pero nuestra fe y personalidad demuestran lo contrario; desde mi punto de vista, esto refleja en sentir de muchas personas en la vida real.

Continuing with our reading and offering it to you, an important aspect of this story is that, although Gabriel is the master of magical realism, something that happens mostly, for example in the work One Hundred Years of Solitude, in this novel there are no magical, supernatural or fantastic elements, since what the characters experience is pure reality. However, we can associate the immense wait of the protagonist, with something extraordinary immersed in the day to day of a situation that seems not to arrive; but what the author was looking for, was to explain or make known the social reality lived by many families.

In this aspect that we will see below, could be something of a spoiler; but I have to say it, because in this work the economic difficulties that take over the Colonel's home, are incredible and they must do the impossible to support that fact. Now; even though there are few characters in the play, there is one that is not human, but he is like the most important part of the story. This character is the rooster, which is a legacy or inheritance left by the Colonel's deceased son; this rooster is a fighting rooster and his wife told the Colonel to sell it and thus get out of some economic difficulties; however, the Colonel clung to the fact that with this rooster they could get ahead and receive money; this is another reason for unwavering hope.

Continuando con nuestra lectura y ofrecimiento de la misma hacia ustedes; un aspecto importante es esta historia es que; a pesar de que Gabriel es el maestro del realismo mágico; cosa que ocurre en su mayoría, por ejemplo en la obra Cien Años de Soledad; en esta novela no existen elementos mágicos, sobrenaturales, ni fantásticos; ya que lo vivido por los personajes es la realidad pura. Sin embargo; podemos asociar la inmensa espera del protagonista, con algo de lo extraordinario inmerso en el día a día de una situación que parece no llegar; pero lo que buscaba el autor, era la de explicar o dar a conocer la realidad social vivida por muchas familias.

En este aspecto que veremos a continuación, pudiera ser algo de spoiler; pero tengo que decirlo, porque en esta obra las dificultades económicas que se apoderan del hogar del Coronel, son increíbles y deben hacer lo imposible para soportar ese hecho. Ahora; a pesar de que en la obra existen pocos personajes, se presenta uno que no es humano, pero es como la parte más importante de la historia. Este personaje es el gallo, que es un legado o herencia que ha dejado el hijo fallecido del coronel; este gallo es de pelea y su esposa le decía al Coronel que lo vendiera y así salir de algunas dificultades económicas; sin embargo, el Coronel se aferraba a que con ese gallo podrían salir adelante y percibir dinero; este es otro motivo de esperanza inquebrantable.
