My lovely friend gave me half guni sack of potatoes somewhere last week because she couldn't finish using them. But, last week, because I was busy helping my son with his assessment, I totally forgot to cook what I intended to cook with those potatoes. And the plan eventually happened, all cramped into one day.
Basic Potato Gratin
My husband and I love, love potato gratin. So, potato gratin it was!
I usually did the basic one, with the simplest recipes I could find in the kitchen. Milk, cheese, salt and pepper. I did not usually have cream cheese or heavy cream, so I skipped that. Wash clean all the potatoes and sliced them. Layer nicely, this time I also topped with fried garlic and onions grits, then slices of cheese. Make this same layer twice. Then topped with milk which had been added salt and pepper.
I forgot to take pictures after I layerred the cheese. Haha!
Basic Mashed Potatoes
Is the easiest recipe of all. Literally, boil, mash, add.
Yes, boil the potatoes until tender. Mash them, then add butter, salt and pepper. Add some dash of milk too to make it creamier.
Very yummy yummy mashed potatoes. Just a small amount for the boys.
We had super simple dinner yesterday , just these potatoes with canned mushroomsoup. But, I was craving for something else too. Couldn't help so I cooked it.
Yes, ramen aka instant noodle!!! Feeling very blessed with food on the table.
Hope everyone is well! ❤️
