I was inspired by 's recent post about hiking to talk about my own issues with overthinking. He was asking how others deal with a wandering mind, and honestly, sometimes, I don't deal with it at all. Sometimes the thoughts swirl around until they are ready to drown me.
I used to go to the beach when I lived closer to one. That was my escape. But now I don't have that luxury, I had to find something new to calm me.
I discovered this angel of meditation through a friend of mine, who swore her ten to fifteen minute YouTube guided meditations were an absolute dream.
Turns out, she was right. Boho Beautiful is now my main go to when I need a quick break from my own mind. She has the most soothing voice. The first couple of times I went through her videos, I fell asleep! It took me a while to learn how to keep my focus on the meditation itself.
I don't claim to know a whole lot about meditation in general. But I do know that it works for me.
There are some much longer ones out there too, that I use when I'm having trouble sleeping.
This is far and away my favourite at night. It comes with sound effects, and it reminds me of when I used to have to take long train journeys quite often. The sound of rain and the train on the tracks is super helpful to me.
Do any of you have any meditation tips, or maybe your own favourite guided videos you listen to? Please feel free to share!
