Well, you didn't think I was liberating paper coffee cups from vending machines just because I wanted them to be free, right? I planned shooting them from the start...Or did I?
First, with cameras only. Then, if they tried running away...(which they didn't need to do, since they were free already with me)...with arrows.
Aye, out of context this might look stupidish. But It has one ;) I started the series about the coffee cups having their vacation along with me a few days ago. Here are the previous posts:
I also started a series of some archery reports...Which happen from time to time.
In my previous one I spoke about going for accuracy with my traditional practice bow which beginners can pull easily. I was practicing arches back then, using a pizza box for target and placing it twenty or so yards away. That bow can't shoot in a straight line at that distance.
Today I used the same one and with bamboo arrows again. I aimed at the coffee cups about twelve yards away. The distance we can have straight trajectories at.
I still have to compensate though. I have to aim a bit to the side and below the target in order to hit it. And I have to find the true spot first. By experimenting, by adjusting my aim shot after shot.
So, you see, if those cups were running they stood a good chance of escaping. But they just stood there, full of sand. They wanted to be hit, you might say.
It's kind of difficult to work on your technique when you are trying to work on your aim at the same time. So people would say you should just practice your shooting and forget about the aim but...it wouldn't go too well in a report on the blog ;)
And I am not making anything up. Those paper coffee cups were indeed imprisoned in vending machines all across the village.
The first one to fall was actually hit on the head by the body of an arrow passing over it. Then...near shot number fourteen or number fifteen for the day...
We had a direct hit. I was free to go. And quite in time since the sand was getting hot under my feet.
Peace!
