Hello to all you Hivers!
after what seemed like an eternity but was just over 15 weeks we finally had divers back in the water. Not the hugely busy days we would normally have at this time of the year but still so good to have several groups of people back blowing bubbles and beaming with smiles. Everyone was so grateful and humble today it was really quite special. We could offer a very basic but very personal service and it just felt good to be doing what we do. Back in the saddle as it were.
We have some of the same people today and a few more and some courses starting also. If this continues with a steady trickle throughout the year we will be just fine as the first 3 months this year were the busiest we'd ever had. From what I understand we are the only operation here that has continued to pay their staff full wages throughout this troubled period. If we can continue to do that I will be very proud of what we have managed to do here as we are not the biggest dive shop but we are a close knit family and to be able to look after the guys is key.
So as I sit here now sipping on the black juice and removing the cobwebs in my brain from the previous nights celebration I am smiling in anticipation of the coming day. Such a simple thing yesterday of being able to put 5 bodies in 3 groups back in the water and to see the guests and crew alike so happy at being able to be doing what we are doing was quite special.
Ok more coffee is required here as I need to jump start the engine this morning. It's in stall right now.
Please be safe wherever you may be in the world right now and try and stay positive as i think a positive mindset right now, and extracting the positives from any given situation is the key here and will stand us all in good stead in the future. We are learning alot about ourselves at the moment
Take care
