Quite the day yesterday! Got the boys to school then was able to watch Pogi win another stage. Just insane how strong he is. I then headed to town to my job for the morning.
I had a bunch of planter boxes to assemble and I had figured it should take about 2 hours... I was wrong. I got started with the 2 standing planters and VERY quickly realized I was in for a task. Each one has about 60 bolt and wing nuts that had to be installed... SO FUCKING TEDIOUS!
Each one took me about half an hour.
Then I went to the taller un-legged pair. I got a good rhythm going and figured out to install ALL the bolts and wing nuts THEN use the drill to tighten them all down. Still took about half an hour each. That was the 2 hours there which I had given a price based on the 2 hours and she paid me up front.
It then took me about 20 minutes for each of the 3 shorter planters and the same process worked great for them. I was pushing hard to get them done as I had to meet at 1pm for our couples session.
Client was super happy with my sticking it out and getting them all done. She felt bad I stayed so much longer and having no more cash on her offered a pair of winning scratchers as a bit of recompense. $35 between them ended up putting me near what it would have been if I charged hourly. AND I got a new client out of the deal as she will have a lot more projects in the future since her husband works long hours.
I was done by 12:30 and managed to hit Wendy's for food and ate in the parking lot of therapist's office. I then had to leave the session 10 minutes early so I could get to the school to pick R up, which I made it 5 minutes before he got let out.
came home after and then all 3 of us headed to Nine Mile Falls for J's track meet.
His first event was javelin which he might have gotten 3rd in with a 55 foot throw.
I was texting with a new client working out the details of the chainlink gates she wants installed while we waited for his events. I will order the parts today.
Then he was one of 3 boys to run the 1600. His "friend" kicked serious ass in the girls 1600 just before.
J came in 3rd of the 3 boys and ran a 6:35 mile. He was content with that.
Then he went to discus where he flailed a little bit having worn himself out from the running. He hasn't learned to spin with the throw yet so his distances were pretty short.
We headed for home and he rode the bus back to the school. and R went to volleyball then she dropped him off at home and went to her bible study. Got my clothes washed and put away then I made it to about 9pm before I was in bed and soon asleep. I kinda heard her come home.
Up dumb early again this morning watching the cycling races now while I get this written. Boys to school in a bit, will go for a ride this morning while still cooler, order gate parts, check on garden and garlic, pick J up after track practice, and figure out dinner for the evening.
