Life in the farm is simple and peaceful. Food is always within reach. Fresh vegetables and livestock are just a few steps away. There’s no need to travel or go to the market just to buy vegetables and meat.
Greetings to all farmers here on hive likewise here ! I'm a new member here and I want to share our farm life specially with our ducks and chickens.
It’s afternoon again, and here comes our beloved ducks and chickens waiting outside together with the cats! Haha! This is the usual scene every morning and afternoon. Our chickens always greet us when we come home from the farm or even when we just step out the door. Sometimes, it gets a bit annoying, especially when they leave droppings everywhere, particularly on our slippers or near the doorway. But in other way, it lightens the mood to see them all around. Besides, when we crave for chicken soup or the one we call “tinola,” we already have around! We can just pick and grab them, no payment needed and it is fresh😅
The cats, on the other hand, love to join them but the real reason why they are joining is that, they are waiting for the dove to come down and eat so that they can chase and eat them. But now the dove prefer to stay on the rooftop instead of coming down because they are afraid of being caught by the cats while eating.
We only have a few chickens and ducks, but they’re enough for our family. It’s a bit hard for them to multiply here because of the cold weather, but they’re slowly increasing in number, it’s a slow process, but that’s okay, at least they are increasing in numbers, hehe.
We feed them corn that we buy from the lowlands, usually one sack lasts for about a month, though it runs out faster when the animals have new chicks or ducklings.
Now that it’s afternoon again, it’s feeding time and tomorrow morning, we’ll do the same routine. This is part of our daily life here on the farm. But If we ever need meat for a meal or we crave for chicken soup, our chickens and ducks are right here, there’s no need to buy one on the market or to your neighborhood.
Truly, farm life is joyful, especially when you have animals around. Sure, they can be noisy and messy sometimes, but their presence brings life to you and to the place.
For those of us who’ve grown used to this daily sight, it would feel so empty without them, am I right? Indeed, life on the farm wouldn’t be complete without our chickens and ducks or any other farm animals. And also, It’s heartwarming to see that almost every neighbor around here has their own flock.
That's all for today! Thank you so much for reading my blog. I really appreciate your time and support 😊
Always remember to keep smiling!
Mabuhay!
