We thought we'd give you an easy start to things with round 1. 5 matches, 10 goals or more. Easy peasy right?
Not for 3 of our contestants who decided to buck the trend and go lower. Sadly for them 14 goals were scored in yesterday’s matches.
Now things might get a little tougher!
Remember that in round 2, you are predicting whether the number of goals in the fixtures below will be higher or lower than the number of goals scored in round 1 - 14 goals
Here's an analysis of those matches
Man City v Arsenal
It's the big one! 1st vs 2nd, master vs the apprentice and probably a result that will determine whether we have title race that will go to the wire.
But will it produce goals?
To be honest, matches between a lot of the top sides in the Premier League in recent years have been largely forgettable events with both teams more worried about losing than they are encouraged by the idea of winning.
5 of the last 7 meetings between these 2 have finished with under 2.5 goals with the most recent match between these sides coming just last month as City dominated Arsenal in the 2nd half to record a 2-0 victory and lift the League Cup.
Arsenal are struggling to create goals, they've socred just 3 times since their encounter with City and will perhaps adopt the position once again that a point is enough for them from this fixture.
City themselves have been a bit of an enigma all season. Yes, they've got a fantastic record in the spring but this doesn't feel like the same City sides of recent seasons who will go on 10 match winning runs to scoop up all the trophies.

Bayern Munich v Stuttgart
I don’t need to write too much about the goal scoring potential of this Bayern team. We all saw how brilliant an attacking threat they are against Real Mardrid in the Champions League.
Of course with a healthy 12 point lead they could be tempted to rest and rotate a few of their stars while at the same time victory in this match would give them the Bundesliga title in front of their home fans.
Stuttgart though are no mugs and are fighting for CL qualification themselves. They currently have a superior GD to the sides below them and so will be keen to avoid the 5-0 thrashing they got from the same opponents back in December.

Juventus v Bologna
Again a team with plenty to play for regarding Europe next season. Juve are 4th and chasing a CL spot
The stats below show that there haven’t been too many goals in their recent matches but the bookies still favour over 2.5 goals in this one.
That might be as much a reflection on Bologna’s defence as it is the Juventus attack. They’ve just come off the back of conceding 7 across their tie with Villa.

Union Saint-Gilloise v Club Brugge
Another top of the table clash and similar circumstances to the EPL with these 2 separated by just 3 points.
USG have a very tight defence having conceded just 17 league goals all season.
They beat Club Brugge 1-0 in February and in fact “1-0 to the USG” is a common chant this year with 5 such results in 2026.
Club Brugge meanwhile are a little more entertaining and since that 1-0 defeat against USG there have been an average of 4 goals per game in their last 11 matches.
Which philosophy will win out in this one?

PSG v Lyon
Lens’ comeback victory on Friday night keeps the pressure on PSG for this one and doesn’t allow them the luxury of just focusing on the Champions League.
Lyon know a win would take them into the Champions League places.
Again despite both sides recent records, the bookies expect goals in this one. To be fair, the last 3 games between the sides have produced a minimum of 4 goals on each occasion.
However, Lyon’s attack has not been quite as sharp this season. Their last 2 away games finished goalless and they’ve only won away once on their travels since February, that a 1-0 win against lowly Nantes.
PSG meanwhile have been banging in goals for fun, particularly against English sides in the CL. You have to go all the way back to November for the last time they failed to score in the league.
