! El día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue la celebración, por parte de nuestra comunidad, en honor a la Virgen del Valle.

El día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue la celebración, por parte de nuestra comunidad, en honor a la Virgen del Valle.Como ya lo sabrán, cada 8 de septiembre se celebra el Día de la Virgen del Valle en Venezuela, una festividad única que une a todos los venezolanos quienes con mucha fe y devoción elevan sus peticiones a la Virgen Maria, lo que nos da un sentimiento de paz y amor en nuestro interior. Desde su llegada en 1530, la virgen del valle es considera como la Patrona de los pescadores y del Oriente debido a que, unos años después, el pueblo donde albergaba la virgen fue arrasado por un gran huracán, destruyendo todo a su paso, inclusive al lugar donde se encontraba, donde fue encontrada milagrosamente intacta. Luego de esos eventos ocurridos, fue trasladada a la hacienda del Valle del Espíritu Santo, ubicada en la Isla de Margarita. Después de muchos años, la isla de margarita atravesaba una gran sequía, por lo que las personas decidieron sacar a la virgen para que escuche sus plegarias y, se dice que al momento que ésta cruzaba la puerta de la hacienda, las personas notaron como el cielo se oscurecía y empezaría a llover durante todo ese día y la noche siguiente, considerándolo como un gran milagro.
As you may already know, every September 8th is celebrated the Day of the Virgin of the Valley in Venezuela, a unique festivity that unites all Venezuelans who with great faith and devotion elevate their petitions to the Virgin Mary, which gives us a feeling of peace and love within us. Since her arrival in 1530, the virgin of the valley is considered the patron saint of fishermen and the East because, a few years later, the town where the virgin was housed was devastated by a great hurricane, destroying everything in its path, including the place where she was located, where she was found miraculously intact. After these events, she was transferred to the hacienda of the Holy Spirit Valley, located on Margarita Island. After many years, the island of Margarita was going through a great drought, so the people decided to take the virgin out to listen to their prayers and, it is said that when she crossed the door of the hacienda, the people noticed how the sky darkened and it started to rain during that day and the following night, considering it as a great miracle.
Como todos los años en las terrazas cumanesas, ubicada en la Ciudad de Cumaná, se le realizó una fiesta en honor a nuestra hermosa Virgen del Valle, donde muchas personas tanto de las 3 torres como de las otras residencias se reunieron para celebrar ese día tan especial, donde varios vecinos de la comunidad le cantaron diferentes canciones y posterior a eso, un grupo de danza le rindió homenaje realizando un baile típico en su honor.
As every year in the terraces of Cumaná, located in the city of Cumaná, a party was held in honor of our beautiful Virgen del Valle, where many people from the 3 towers and other residences gathered to celebrate this special day, where several neighbors of the community sang different songs and after that, a dance group paid tribute to her by performing a typical dance in her honor.
Mientras hacían los preparativos para cantarle cumpleaños, decidí visitar a la otra torre que queda muy cerca del lugar de la celebración a la Virgen Maria, donde al momento de llegar me di cuenta de lo bonito que habían arreglado y organizado el lugar, con muchos globos de colores y flores para ella, incluso hicieron un mural hermoso con su nombre en la pared de esa pequeña plaza y, luego de pedir permiso para entrar, pude tomarme unas fotos con Vallita.
While they were making the preparations to sing her birthday, I decided to visit the other tower that is very close to the place of the celebration of the Virgin Mary, where the moment I arrived I realized how beautifully they had arranged and organized the place, with many colorful balloons and flowers for her, they even made a beautiful mural with her name on the wall of that small square and, after asking permission to enter, I could take some pictures with Vallita.
Al final, a eso de las 7 de la noche, empezamos a cantarle cumpleaños a la Virgen del Valle, donde unas vecinas le hicieron unas tortas para compartir con la comunidad, aparte de que hubo algunos pasapalitos también para todos los niños que estuvieron presentes en la festividad, sin duda fue algo muy bonito para alguien tan importante y especial como lo es la Virgen del Valle, nuestra Patrona de Oriente.
At the end, at about 7 pm, we began to sing birthday to the Virgen del Valle, where some neighbors made some cakes to share with the community, besides there were some pasapalitos also for all the children who were present at the festival, it was certainly something very nice for someone as important and special as it is the Virgen del Valle, our Patroness of the East.
