Hello Natural Mediciners on Hive Blockchain!
I started planting a Telang flowers in front of my house 5 month ago from some seeds given by my friend in Bireuen. Telang Flower is Clitoria ternatea from latin name. The color is purplish blue like the 2018 version of the Pantone color. Actually it feels refreshing when we process the flowers to be a herbal tea we can drink and it is nutritious as well.
In Thailand, people called Telang flower tea with Nam Dok anchan. The three countries in Southeast Asia recognize telang flower tea as an herbal drink. The vines that often grow wild are believed to help maintain health.
The infusion of telang flowers is believed to cleanse the blood and increase female fertility. Even so, it has not been proven by scientific research.
This flower infusion, which has elliptical and blunt leaves, is also used as drops to maintain eye clarity. Not only that, if the petals are pounded with palm sugar, it can be used to treat ulcers.
As a drink, some brew their petals with hot water, while some dry them first. Simply choose two to three buds, pour hot water, let stand for 10 minutes.
Regarding taste, this flower tea with a width of about three centimeters is not much different from the taste of Japanese-style green tea. It is mild, tends to be sweet, and has a strong floral aroma.
Usually people add honey or sugar and lemon to enrich the taste.
Apart from taste, color is also one of the reasons some people love the Telang flower tea concoction. The reason is, the light blue color can change according to the mixture used.
For example, when mixed with a lemon juice that is yellowish blue, it dissolves with it and turns purple. You can also experiment with other colored blends for mixed results.
You can get Telang flower tea blends in various places.
This tea, which is also known as blue chai, Asian pigeonwings, blubellvine, and butterfly pea, was reported by the Evening Standard, proven to prevent and help fight obesity and disorders related to body metabolism.
Telang flower tea also has the function of preventing glycation which can cause premature aging, anti-inflammatory, overcoming fatigue, increasing vitality, and relieving pain.
This telang flower tea can treat sore throats and heartburn. Moreover, there are additional lemongrass and lemon which can reduce flu symptoms and also warm the body. The color is beautiful and again tastes good.
It is not surprising that Telang flower tea is also popular as a health drink in the west, one of which is in England. In the land of Queen Elizabeth, blue tea is on the rise and has the nickname magical tea.
Apart from being used as a beverage concoction, Telang flowers are also used as a natural colorant for food.
People in Kelantan often use it as a dye for kerabu or pulut rice (sticky rice). In Thailand there are those who create lattes and macchiato with a mixture of Telang flowers.
