My house is the perfect size for the boys and I and I am so grateful for our special home. The person I bought this condo from left a huge solid wood china cabinet because it didn't fit in the moving truck. I was shocked that was all he left because this place was packed with furniture. I left the top glass part in the garage and decided to use the bottom part as a mini apothecary to hold all my various herbs. I also decided to make the top a sacred altar with crystals and gifts from nature. I believe the herbs and crystals protect the home as well and block any negative energies so that only positive energy may enter our home.
Here is the sage, juniper and cedar I wildcrafted after the Full Harvest Moon in September.
I found each piece and ensured to ask each place if I could take some. Some of the pieces were already falling off or turning for the season which signaled it was safe to take. Also, every time I wildcraft I ensure there is plenty of the herb around. I never take if it is endangered or scarce in the area. There is a deep energetic connection between herbs and humans. Herbal medicine is why we as humans are still here today, how we survived. And how did we know what was safe? We communicated some how with those plants. I believe it was the energy that spoke to humans and helped them discover what was safe and what to use for what.
I had some herbs in small amounts that I wanted to store in glass sealed jars. That's the best way to keep the herbs fresh. I started saving baby food jars because I love to resuse things whenever I can.
I even was able to reuse some of the labels from the bags of herbs. I was so happy that all of the herbs fit in the 2 sizes of jars I had and I had the exact amount of jars I needed, how synchronistic.
Motherwort is great for balancing hormones, can help with thyroid issues and great for hotflashes and so much more!
This is my mini pharmacy, my medicine bag. My way to help myself and others. When I practice and study herbalism I feel a connection to my spiritual side, and perhaps some of my past lives. I know I have worked with herbal medicine before when I first started learning about Herbalism it was so natural, so familiar.
Slippery elm is wonderful for digestive issues especially diarrhea. It is also wonderful to help coat the digestive track. Great to take with ibuprofen to help protect your stomach lining. I love having these helpful herbs on hand that I can easily whip up a tea, poultice, or herbal honey.
I keep all my power items down here to keep the entry of the home safe. I have crystals, small items from my childhood, candles and my lizard my grandpa Johnny gave me. All these special things make my home feel my own and when I walk in and see them I feel so safe and connected. I love knowing that I have created a safe space for me and the kids to grow and thrive.
I am fascinated by herbs and grateful I can have my own mini apothecary from a special piece of furniture that was given to me.
I am super grateful for this wonderful and
