Hey there! Today I thought of making a post about "expanding consciousness".
When people used to mention to expand consciousness I didn't quite understand what they exactly meant, I'm generally more attune to detailed explanations with a relatable context to them so the simple phrases like that made it hard to "get" it.
After a couple of personal experiences (which I will post about in the future in separate posts)
I started to understand what all those people meant in my own way.
Essentially from a cognitive perspective, it makes sense. It is something hard to put into words however, in which case I would have to create a context for you.
Ever noticed how breathing works? We breath in, then out, our lungs become smaller than bigger.
Likewise the same motion exists in the mind, the mind is holographic, at least according to what I have noticed, in that way... Our mind "breathes" too.
When we expand our consciousness it is more or less like expanding our lungs and filling them with fresh air, metaphorically speaking but also kind of literally.
Essentially this can be best conveyed with a practical example.
I would like us to imagine that we are that point or area of pressure inside our head, we feel that pressure in the head and we are that, now we imagine expanding that feeling to the rest of the inside of the head, then we notice how we can expand it further to the outside world, we are the world in a way, by expanding, we are relaxing our mind, we are releasing the tension and we are feeling totally relaxed the more this progresses.
In this way we will notice how when we "become" the environment, we release tension and we relax.
That is my take on expanding
Honestly from my personal experience I have noticed in the past that I was unable to "feel" the world around me for a while in a sort of "derealization" way, of course that was an issue at the time for many viable reasons and many may have experienced this at least once in their life time.
At that time I was simply too focused on trying to "Feel" and that focused created an attention point in the middle of the head (and brain) which was the main and perhaps only point of attention.
That was the reason why the "disconnection" was happening in the first place.
As mentioned in previous posts, we are "channeling" or "following" streams of data and information, in this case when we keep following the same string, we get the same result.
Key takeaway is to be able to notice what is causing the unchanging flow that we are unhappy about and of course change it in a direction which will result in something we are happy about.
It takes a few "frames" lets say until we start forming it into a stable and consistent habit or reality if you will, to be able to "stay" relaxed.
It is important and crucial to have some level of self-awareness, to be noticing things and for that we just need to feel safe and calm in the first place in an appropriate level to start doing so.
Noticing those patterns is one thing and shifting them is in another aspect of noticing.
When we notice we already cause change, so no need to worry about what to do next, if something more is neces#sary it will take care of itself as needed, we just follow the flow of noticing and being aware of things, the rest will be happening automatically as needed.
In my life I noticed that the word "relax" was meaningless, that was the case in the sense of not being able to understand what "relax" means, in truth... relax means we let go of anything we hold onto, we let it be, take its own course and we then have an empty grasp to hold something else.
As we know, we cannot eat something with a full mouth, we cannot take in fresh air with full lungs and of course we cannot keep eating with a full stomach.
"Expand your Consciousness" therefore means relaxation, being in tune with everything and not only with a fraction of reality, it means letting go... letting go of exclusion, of the tension and the "ego", becoming "the rest" of the world as well as who we already are (and aren't) all at once, to "reset", to go back to the surface so we can dive back in.
So Relax, let go, then go again :)
