It is a kind of fruit plant. This plant is very important. Ayurvedic medicine is traditionally made from this plant. In our India, medicines are made completely naturally from different parts of these plants. These plants are found in several places in Asia, including India. But basically Bael was born in our India.
This plant is commonly found mostly in rural households. This plant and its fruit are called Bael. We all call it Bael in common parlance but it has a scientific name or botanical name that is Aegle marmelos. This plant is deeply involved in botany.
This plant is analyzed in the book Botany. I have an M.Sc level botany book and there is analysis about the use, benefits, nutritional value, medicine etc. of this plant. The fruit Bael of this plant is very beneficial for our body.
A Bael tree bears a lot of fruit and the fruits are round and quite large. These Bael fruits are full green when raw and turn yellow when ripe. We usually eat Bael fruit when it is ripe, but it is also made with raw Bael when making medicine.
This Bael fruit can be eaten in a variety of ways, such as ripping the outer shell of a ripe Bael and eating the soft grains inside. I usually make this Bael juice most of the time but I like to eat it all the time. To make it more palatable to eat it, I first take out the Bael's shawls and then mix it with some amount of milk, sugar, 1 piece of ripe banana and water and make a sherbet.
However, if the bael is too sweet, then there is no need to add sugar. It feels impossible to eat this way and it is also good for the body. Its sherbet keeps the body cool. The shell of this Bael fruit has a kind of sticky adhesive so there is a little problem when lifting the shell by hand, it is best if it is lifted with a spoon.
In our Hinduism, Bael leaves and fruits are used in worship. This Bael fruit is nutritious and beneficial in both raw and ripe state. Raw Bael is very useful for diarrhea and diarrhea. And the ripe Bael sherbet is very tasty as I said before.
The beautiful aroma comes out of the ripe bael. Bael contains a lot of vitamins A, C, calcium, phosphorus and many other valuable nutrients. The leaves of the bael tree are green and the apex is pointed. The flowers range in color from light green to white. Bael trees also have thick thorns.
This Bael fruit has some common medicinal properties such as---
1. Bael cures diarrhea as well as constipation. However, in case of diarrhea, semi-ripe fruits are more effective.
2. Bael fruit juice helps in digestion and it is a tonic.
3. In case of cataracts or irritation of our eyes, the juice of the leaves of Bael tree mixed with honey is very beneficial. In addition, if pepper is mixed with them, then another disease is effective in the case of jaundice.
4. Then the stomach is bad, bell fruit is beneficial in boosting memory.
There may be other qualities besides these, but for the time being I know a few general qualities about Bael fruit.
In addition to the fruits and leaves of this Bael tree I have seen during the study that flowers, roots, stems, bark are used as Ayurvedic medicine. The flowers of this Bael tree are commonly used as medicine for the treatment of epilepsy patients. The roots of the plant then contain a type of methanol that is used as a medicine for a reaction called anti-microfilament. Then the stems of the Bael tree are seen to be used as false gums. Then the bark of the tree is known to be used as fish poison which was once unknown to me.
