the Acehnese call the rubek plant. Malays call Rembega, and Remingu. The Javanese call this plant a wuduri plant. But in general in Indonesia this plant is known as biduri. This tree can still be found and grows wild and neglected in our area. Even though this plant is exotic and beautiful. Rubek plant is often allowed to grow wild just like that, not many people see it, even as an ornamental plant. in Aceh the rubek plant has not been widely used. The common use of rubek in Aceh is as a medicinal plant, especially for removing thorns attached to the body, as well as for treating scabies, mouth sores, itching due to chicken pox, measles, fever, and coughs.
Although the rubek plant is underestimated in my area, many people seek it when it is necessary to remove stubborn thorns that stick to their limbs. The process of removing thorns using rubek sap has been carried out for generations
Among the many benefits of the rubek plant, one of them is the root which is also used by the people of my area to heal snake bite wounds by washing them clean. Then the roots are pounded. then divided in half, plus a little water. then filtered to be drunk. while some are used to cover the bite wound.
To avoid external surgery in order to facilitate the process of expelling a thorn stuck in the limb, it is done by placing rubek sap where the thorn is stuck. try to get rubek sap hit by thorns, then it's just a matter of time. this is usually done before bed. and in the habit of waking up in the morning the thorns have appeared.
