The goal of yoga is to progressively remove the limitations and covers of the individual mind, to explore and uncover its inner potentials, and to gradually shape the individual mind into the perfect instrument and replica of the cosmic mind of which it is a part.

It should not be forgotten that the mind is like an iceberg and that most of it lies below the surface of the ocean. A small part - the conscious, is above the surface, while the levels of the subconscious and unconscious mind are deep underwater.
Secrets of our _um
We can never be free until we fully expose and awaken the whole consciousness (chitta - in Sanskrit). Until the Citta is completely liberated from its contents - Pratjaja, we are in the hands of destiny - Prarabdha. These inner contents upon which the mind rests are stored in the form of seeds, which are waiting to create conditions for it to sprout and bear fruit. These are suppressed contents, or impressions - samskaras, from this and all other lives.
As a seed that is capable of bearing fruit, when we enable it and create the conditions for it, so too do the samskaras bear their fruit. As long as they are in seed form, we say that they are potential karmas because they are dormant in them. They condition our behavior and our way of thinking. Very often they are a source of tension and psychosomatic illness.
If we take the seed of a fruit, we can remove it layer by layer, but we will not find any wood in it. The tree is encoded in the seed, it bears the program of the tree, which will only be revealed when the conditions for it are created.

This karma store is called karmasha in Sanskrit and is made up of three types of karma:
Accumulated impressions that are in the store of karma. This is the so-called Sanctic karma.
Impressions that are expressed in life and leave the store of karmas. This is the so-called Prarabdha or fate,
The present karmas that are happening to us, which we create and which will one day become stored. These karmas are called Kryamana.
Like a farmer, who goes to the barn to get seed to plant it in pre-prepared and cultivated land, so does the karma seed leaves the karmashi. The peasant plants the seed sown, watch over it, and when it sprouts, watch the fruit that grows. Over time, it yields the fruits, which it partly uses, and the part puts in the barn, until the next sowing.
Karmashaya, as a dormant place of karma, is a part of the causal body, which in Vedanta philosophy is called Karan Sharira (in translation causative body).

After death, not only does the body dissolve, but also the mind. What remains are impressions, experiences, that move from life to life. Individuality, which is identified with its physical and emotional form, with its status and the like. after some time it ceases to exist, only the experiences are nourished in the causal body - karana shariri.
The deepest layer in which the samskaras are imprinted is unconscious. Here they are in their latent, not manifest form. The second level is in the realm of the subconscious mind. It is not a deep level and the samskaras are here in passage and can manifest themselves. The third level of samskaras is in the process of maturation and modulation at the level of the conscious mind.
The backbone of the mind
Yoga teaches us that the mind must have its support or the content on which it rests. In Sanskrit, these contents are called Pratjaja. In the absence of an escort, the mind dissipates because there is no support and this state of consciousness is called Lai or dissolution. It is often the case that people who meditate are sunk into sleep, which is a natural protection, so that their conscious part of the mind is not prepared to enter deep and powerful areas of the unconscious.

In the waking state of consciousness, our attention is under the influence of the five senses, it is facing outward and has no contact with the inner realms. The information we receive comes from the outside and deeper aspects of consciousness remain in the darkness. This does not mean that they are not active, even more so that these internal programs and impulses that spur us to action come from these areas, giving us the false illusion that we are the masters of our thoughts and intentions.
In order to become aware of these mechanisms of interaction, it is necessary to temporarily isolate awareness from the inflow of information it receives from the outside. Yoga techniques help us with this, and in particular, effective Kriya yoga (a type of yoga in which we willingly direct our consciousness synchronized with breathing through certain energy channels.
Only when consciousness is cleansed, isolated from the information served by its senses at any moment, can it what she sees is the rich inner world of memories, impressions, complexes, prejudices, tensions, experiences of this and all other lives. The mind is not only holographic in space, but also in time, therefore any experience, whether is experienced consciously or unconsciously, it remains permanently written in the depths of our consciousness.
