Since being home, I have been eating very poorly. I eat everything I can find at the dining table, and mostly it's from a buffet. Sure, it's mostly vegetables, but I don't know how it's being prepared. Not to mention, I have been getting food poisoning quite a bit and have been ill for the last 50 days at home. My energy is also at all times low in comparison to when I was living alone. It really hinders me from performing at my best despite I also take nootropics.
In my attempt to maintain the same lifestyle, I started eating a simple brunch. My mom prepares a boiled egg, 5 spoons of white rice, vegetable, and two sausages. Indeed, this brunch can be modified. For example, I need to replace white rice with quinoa or red rice.
When I live on my own, usually, I like to eat toast with a fried egg or oatmeal with fruits and coffee for breakfast. For lunch, I eat pan-seared fish or steamed protein with vegetables. I don't usually eat dinner, but I'll order something or fish if I am hungry.
Today, I made my all-time happiness bowl. My bowl consisted of A sauteed tofu with a boiled egg, watercress, cucumber, carrots, a dash of coconut oil, and lemon as a dressing. I notice that when I add mayonnaise or something salty, it increases my appetite. So, I try to keep it clean by using lemon as the dressing.
When it comes to spices, I use turmeric, black pepper, and a bit of salt. I added two cloves of garlic into the mixture. I also use a dash of sugar for diabetic people. Sometimes, I add oregano, but lately, I notice it can ruin the taste. So, I am skipping it for this meal.
The temptation to eat more comes from my mom, who continually tells me to try the food she bought outside. I also notice that I eat a lot when I sit at the dining table. I like to eat where there is no other option than what is presented in front of me to resist temptation. So, I have been eating in my room while it is convenient to eat at the dining table. It's the same with everything in my life. Want me to stop working? Just take me to a place away from a table, chair, and a laptop. Want me to stop using my phone? Just take me to an area with no electricity and no signal; I'd be busy looking for entertainment and socialize more.
So, hopefully, starting from today, I can start living my old lifestyle. I think my current life plus is a fresh market with abundant choices and cheap vegetables nearby.
