My person and I bought an inflatable kayak so we will have something to do this summer. I haven't been able to do many types of exercise because of my foot, but water sports are a go. So we spent the day paddling from one end of a lake to the other, and then mostly floating back to dock. It was amazing, even if we did forget to put the rudder/fin thing on the bottom of our kayak. We made lots of lazy circles in the current. Next time we will be more prepared.
It feels great to be sun kissed and worn out from working my body. It also felt great to take a true blue day off. While I rarely have more than three solid hours of freelance work daily (except on Thursday when it's a full 8), keeping to a schedule while everyone else is off work feels taxing in a new way. I don't mind having work. I love an income. But being at home means I haven't been able to give myself permission not to go full tilt with writing and home care. I wear myself out every morning.
I've needed a siesta every day for the last week. I was wondering why until I had blood drawn this morning. After the needle was removed, the flow didn't stem itself as usual. I've also been bruising very easily. Put it together with my anemic history, and I need some iron! Now that I know, I'll start a multivitamin, but not until after my surgery. The doc wants me to keep everything the same. Knowledge is power.
Until then, I'll pay attention to my food intake. I have lots of fresh spinach. I'll see what else is iron rich and get that in my system. I don't know why anemia has snuck up on me. I've been exhausted plus bruising. Usually that tips me off!
Meanwhile, I've got to get out on that kayak at least two more times before my surgery. I need the sun and exercise. It feels great!
